Thriving Marketing Entrepreneur Presented with Admirable Accolade
Press release from: TargetGov
(openPR) - TargetGov Handed Distinguished Partner Award for Global Entrepreneurship Week
Baltimore, MD. TargetGov, a prospering national marketing agency, has been named a 2009 Distinguished Partner of Global Entrepreneur Week/USA after leading a teleconference heard by students, business owners, and others across the world.
The complimentary teleconference, held on November 17, 2009 by President of TargetGov, Gloria Larkin, was just one of the 2,000 plus activities designed to inspire, mentor and engage people across the nation and celebrate the vital role entrepreneurs play in innovation, job creation and economic recovery. Participants, young and old, registered online and were then granted access to the interactive teleconference, allowing them to personally ask questions and seek advice from Larkin, now in her thirteenth year operating TargetGov.
TargetGov, which also participated in Global Entrepreneur Week’s inception in 2008, represented the only company focused solely on the $500 billion government contracting market. Larkin, who is the national Procurement Committee Co-Chair for Women Impacting Public Policy and an expert at government procurement, based her teleconference on her e-book, TargetGov Getting Started in Government Contracting Toolkit, which delves into specific detail about how to get businesses started in the world of government contracting.
“It is so important to show people at a young age the importance of taking advantage of the resources available,” Larkin said. “I think when small businesses hear “government”, they get turned off, but it is a lucrative market where they can actually thrive if the right steps are taken.”
The audio recording of the live hour long teleconference can be found on the website: targetgov.com focuses on how small businesses can get their foot in the door in the government contracting market. Participants learned about the essentials to registering as a government contractor and how to locate and do business with government agencies in their area.
“Getting started is the hardest task when starting your own business,” Larkin said, “I was there before and am glad to show people that it can be done and that the government market can be a great place to start.”
