German Memories in Asia
Press release from: Rajkumar Kanagasingam
German Memories in Asia, is a collection of memories by the author Rajkumar Kanagasingam in his association with the German university students who have been volunteering in Sri Lanka under a sports exchange program.
German Memories in Asia explores the author’s encounters in his early days in the war-torn Jaffna Peninsula in the northern part of Sri Lanka and in an American NGO as an officer in the war-torn jungles under LTTE control while being engaged in his tsunami relief mission with German students in those areas.
German Memories in Asia is narrating the fascinating early human migration from Africa to the rest of the world and the sensitive issues of Germans around the world and their encounters.
German Memories in Asia, is a memorable testimony for German students’ life and fashion in their residency at the Aquarius Sports Resorts Hotel in Marawila, a sleepy western coastal town of the Island facing the scenic Indian Ocean!
The author Rajkumar Kanagasingam had a tedious upbringing in the highly war-torn Jaffna peninsula of the Indian Ocean’s war-torn island and had adventurous encounters in his scouting days and thereafter.
He was an officer at CARE International and founded a Think-Tank on Post-conflict, Economic and Gender issues, which coordinates in association with the Asian – German Sports Exchange Program (AGSEP) to create awareness on landmine issues in association with the U.S. State Department's Office of Weapons Reduction and Abatement.
He was a columnist for a leading English newspaper in Sri Lanka and contributed number of articles on International issues and lectured on Globalization, US economy and International economy at various seminars in Sri Lanka and abroad.
The book will be released by the US publisher AuthorHouse in the coming months and will be available worldwide and could be ordered at over 30,000 retail outlets and will be listed with AuthorHouse.com, Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, Borders.com, Abesbooks.com, Booksamillion.com, Target.com and more!
