Extentia launches iPad application development services
Press release from: Extentia Information Technology
(openPR) - February 10, Pune, India: Apple’s new iPad has generated a lot of interest over the last few weeks. During the launch, Apple confirmed that most iPhone applications would be compatible with the iPad, with many new specialist apps being created by the development community.
Now, Pune-based Extentia Information Technology (extentia.com) is offering iPad application development services. As a registered iPhone developer, Extentia has already created approximately 20 iPhone and iPod Touch applications since early 2009 – mostly focused on education, entertainment, interactive marketing, and lifestyle. Extentia’s specialist iPhone and iPad division is iXtentia.com.
With a focus on creating customized education applications that can be reused and expanded, Extentia’s offerings include iWordCards, iEasyReader, language learning software, and classroom assessment software for teachers and students.
iWordCards is a fun educational app designed for children, improving reading skills while helping expand vocabulary. Children can learn from a long list of English words and look up meanings and pronunciation with just a tap of the finger. This is the perfect teaching tool for children learning to read, or learning English as a second language.
The iEasyReader series of children’s stories includes classics like ‘The Hare and the Tortoise’, and new stories such as ‘Elsa Shops for Shoes’. The iEasyReader storytelling application combines images, music, sound and interactivity, while reading speeds, font sizes and other settings can be adjusted to assist beginner readers.
Gaming applications are also popular on the iPhone, and Extentia is working on games that take advantage of the iPad’s larger screen. With a capable in-house design team, Extentia is able to provide all the services needed to develop and publish great looking apps.
The iPad’s exciting interface, larger screen and scope for more content have brought fresh ideas to the Extentia pipeline. New frameworks are being developed to support tourism, lifestyle and shopping-based applications. Tourist travel guides and customized shopping experiences are also on the agenda.
As well as software for the iPhone / iPad platform, Extentia also develops desktop and web-based applications for organizations worldwide.
Extentia expects to have its first iPad compatible applications available by April 2010.
