(openPR) - Advantech, a leading global manufacturer of customizable telecom computing blades and multi-core network platforms, today announced it will be showcasing the latest optimized ATCA, MicroTCA and Packetarium™ solutions at Mobile World Congress 2010. These solutions are aimed at accelerating the successful deployment of next generation infrastructure equipment designs.

Advantech's latest ATCA Processing blades based on single or dual Intel® Xeon® 5500 and Westmere processors with 10GbE connectivity will be at the forefront of the show, demonstrating the company's capabilities to design and manufacture mission-critical products for the core of the network. Focused on high bandwidth data plane applications, the MIC-5320 and MIC-5322 are key building blocks for IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) compliant media gateways, application servers and media servers, as well as 3G and 4G network elements. Fully tested and compliant with the upcoming Westmere release, both blades are ready for drop-in upgrades or deployment when the new processors become available. New ATCA product announcements will be made during the MWC event.

The new Packetarium™ product range addresses alternative system designs for dense multi-core servers and appliances with multiple 10GbE interconnects for high speed packet processing. These leading edge designs target OEMs who need the highest possible network processing performance available on an OEM-Ready or OEM-Custom server. Ranging from 12-cores in Intel® Xeon® based appliances to 96-cores in Cavium OCTEON™ Plus–based designs, these systems are ideally suited for wire-speed packet processing at the application layer. OEMs are currently deploying them in applications such as high capacity LTE gateways, traffic management and application delivery control, subscriber-based services and content-aware routing, as well as Quality of Experience (QoE) control. PacketariumTM hybrid platforms combining the latest Intel® Xeon® server technology with multiple high performance network processor cards and multi-gigabit switch technology will allow customers to efficiently deploy a “best of both worlds” approach. Next generation Packetarium™ systems will be shown exclusively to key OEMs behind the scenes at MWC prior to their launch at the RSA show in Las Vegas on March 1st.

Targeted at Wireless Network Infrastructure and Open Base Station Controller applications, Advantech will preview, for the first time in Europe, its award-winning MicroTCA system, the UTCA-6302.
The UTCA-6302 was designed to help telecom equipment manufacturers and network equipment providers benefit from the performance, cost and reliability gains which are vital to get them ahead of the competition, especially in the wireless base station and backhaul business where MicroTCA is gaining a strong foothold. Advantech successfully engineered the UTCA-6302 to meet one infrastructure customer's aggressive design-to-cost goals without sacrificing functionality. The system deploys advanced MCH technologies and supports multiple dual-core processor AMCs or network processor based AMCs for exceptional levels of scalability needed in software designed hardware functions such as radio or host media processing. Further MicroTCA design additions and improvements will be announced during the Mobile World Congress.
