(openPR) - Berlin, October 2006 – More than 340 delegates from more than 25 countries attended this year’s European EXPP Summit in Berlin from September 25th to 26th, establishing it after just the second event as one of Europe’s top congresses dealing with E-Invoicing & EBPP.
The 2nd European EXPP Summit provided an information and networking platform that brought together users and providers of E-Invoicing & EBPP solutions and services from across the industry. Participants heard topical success stories from major European companies. Speakers from Novartis, Telekom Austria, John Deere, the Danish and Swedish government and many other companies and institutions related to an interested audience their own experience of implementing E-Invoicing.
The European approach and its focus on cross-border activities are two features of the European EXPP Summit that make it unique among the E-Invoicing congresses. “It’s a great opportunity to learn how E-Invoicing works in various European countries”, states Chun-Hui Lin, legal researcher from the Institute for Information Industry in Taipei City, Taiwan. Participants especially appreciated the collegial atmosphere and the chance to share experiences with other E-Invoicing experts. Nils Katzmark from Deutsche Bank, Frankfurt, Germany, was another of the many participants who praised the networking opportunities the Summit offered.
A highlight of the Summit was once again the Partner Panel Discussion. Representatives of Ariba, Billentis, CSC, Deutsche Post, Lufthansa Airplus, SAP, TietoEnator and Tradocs answered pivotal questions from moderator André Hintermann and numerous participants. Despite the impressive growth of E-Invoicing, several challenges remain. As reported by some service providers, there are market participants who still need persuading, while other providers have already developed ingenious roll-out models. These are rapidly multiplying their customers as well as the processed invoicing volume. Meanwhile, too, the first operators have interconnected their networks, and are now able to serve customers via a single-point-of-contact at very reasonable prices – VAT-compliant and end-to-end (roaming). Although the large organisations continue to be the main drivers of E-Invoicing, medium-sized and small companies are also getting into the act, since they are the counter parties of the large accounts. Dozens of vendors offer attractive solutions for all sizes of organisations and for all industries.
Delegates to the Summit were also able to visit the large exhibition area, where 27 leading solution and service providers presented state-of-the-art E-Invoicing solutions.
Inspired by the very positive feedback, the organizers have meanwhile announced that the 3rd European EXPP Summit will be held on September 10th to 11th at the Millennium Conference Center, London Kensington, United Kingdom. www.expp-summit.com
