Masstech Group Reports Record Growth
Press release from: Masstech Group
Toronto – January 26, 2010
Masstech Group, the global leader in broadcast content management, announced today record growth for its fiscal year that ended on September 30, 2009. It is notable that this growth occurred in the face of a worldwide broadcast market that has experienced a significant downturn in capital expenditures.
Masstech first introduced its flagship MassStore media asset management solution in 2001 and since has maintained a record of consistent expansion in the marketplace. Major broadcasters worldwide and U.S. call letter stations have depended on Masstech to provide the infrastructure for their file based workflows. Five years ago Masstech became the first and still is the only company that incorporated native transcoding into its solution providing the ability to connect production and transmission into one seamless file based workflow. Masstech’s transcoding platform is now the framework for Canadian Broadcaster CTV and its Olympics broadcast debut. Masstech’s transcoding technology is a key component that enables Masstech to uniquely bridge a range of production environments with advanced interfaces including certified interoperability with AVID and Final Cut Pro.
While Masstech initially focused on North America, in 2004 the company expanded into the international broadcast market with offices in Australia, India and Europe. Today Masstech has grown to more than 40 employees based in Europe and boasts major installations in Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong and Venezuela. More recently Masstech has witnessed a surge of activity in the rapidly growing Indian marketplace.
“We are committed to providing our customers with state-of-art solutions and world-class support. We now have over 60 employees in engineering and support and will continue to invest in these vital areas as our business continues to grow,” said CEO and President of Masstech Group, Joe French. “It has been extremely rewarding to be part of this company from its beginning and I am proud of the growth we have sustained. While our overall global sales have been very positive this past year we are particularly excited about what EMEA has produced for us during this time. We will continue to invest in these expanding markets with a strong focus on customer support, a vital component for every broadcaster.”
