(openPR) - Palo Alto, California – January 20, 2010, PREMIER Biosoft International announced the world wide release of Beacon Designer version 7.7 with design support for High Resolution Melting Analysis primers. High Resolution Melting Analysis (HRMA) is an upcoming post PCR analysis method which has been gaining attention, especially for SNP genotyping for identification of variants, prior to sequencing.
Beacon Designer uses sophisticated algorithms to assure successful analysis by High Resolution Melting. HRMA primers are designed flanking the SNP of interest to generate the shortest possible amplicons with detectable melting temperature variation. The primers are designed avoiding template secondary structures, assuring efficient primer extension. Beacon Designer also enables analysis of pre-designed or published primers.
