(openPR) - WOBURN, MA USA- January 15th, 2010 – Innov-X Systems, Inc. and HORIBA Instruments (Irvine, CA) are pleased to announce the launch of the MESA 6000 EDXRF Analyzer. The MESA is a high performance EDXRF analyzer designed to measure the low atomic number elements Mg, Al, Si, P, S and Cl in petrochemical and hydrocarbon fluids. It features the patented diffractive optics technology originally developed by Innov-X for marine fuels analysis. Immediate markets include the analysis of chlorine in petrochemical fluids and lubricating or insulation oils down to 1 ppm, and the analysis of sulfur content to meet ULSD requirements in diesel fuels, biodiesel blends and oxygenated fuels. A novel feature of the MESA is its ability to estimate oxygen content and automatically correct sulfur results for the presence of oxygen in diesel fuels.
