A Companion Guide to the Bestselling Handbook of Neurosurgery
Press release from: Thieme Publishers
(openPR) - New York /Stuttgart - With the The Greenberg Rapid Review: A Companion to the 6th Edition, Dr. Leonard I. Kranzler has designed a book that not only challenges the reader but facilitates active participation in the process individuals use when learning and reviewing material. The book functions as a companion to the 6th edition of the consistently bestselling Handbook of Neurosurgery by Mark S. Greenberg, MD. Both titles are published by Thieme.
"The purpose [of the book] is to pinpoint for clinicians what they should expect to know using a rapid review format. It will help identify what is already known, what is not known and provide a method by which an individual can verify that fact has been learned," states author Leonard I. Kranzler, BA, MD, JD, LLM.
In creating this guide, the author has developed a systematic approach based upon his years of directing the well-respected Chicago Review Course for neurosurgery, that dramatically reduces the amount of time spent studying a daunting amount of information. The more than 7,000 questions and answers in the text each have specific references to material in Dr. Greenberg's classic book. By utilizing the question format, the author is drawing on established ideas about learning. For instance, complex subjects are broken down into small bits using fill-in-the gap exercises, mnemonics, and repetition.
The The Greenberg Rapid Review operates as a study guide for residents, fellows and clinicians in neurosurgery, neurology, neuroradiology, and neuropathology as well as for medical students and professionals preparing for board or recertification examinations.
