WOODLAND INTERNATIONAL TRANSPORT HELPS DELIVER WATER TO ZIMBABWEANS

Logistics & Transport
Press release from: Woodland International Transport
(openPR) - Woodland International Transport Company Ltd, a leading independent freight forwarder with offices in the UK, Dublin and USA, is helping ordinary Zimbabweans in Manicaland Province, by sponsoring the construction of an Elephant Pump that supplies clean and safe water.

Developed in Zimbabwe by Pump Aid, the Elephant Pump is based on a 2000-year-old Chinese design and is constructed using basic materials. The pump is designed to be very durable and can be
maintained by local people.

In a letter of thanks to Woodland, Rumbidzai Sauramba, a resident of the village in Manicaland Province, said: "Through Woodland's sponsorship, disease in our village is reducing. We are cooking,
washing and bathing with safe and protected water. Our parents are able to grow crops and earn money because of the water."

Commenting on the project, Kevin Stevens, Woodland's Chairman/CEO, said: "We are extremely pleased to be able to help the villagers clean, safe drinking water; something we all take for granted. It is very humbling to think that Woodland has had such a huge impact on so many people. I sincerely hope that the water pump continues to service the village for many years to come."

Woodland formed in 1988 has enjoyed steady growth. In the UK, the company has offices in Birmingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Hull, Dover and Heathrow and also owns its Anglia Freight Terminal headquarters in Essex.

In the US, the company has offices in Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York and at JFK International Airport. Woodland offers a full range of multimodal and value added services including
customs clearance services.
