(openPR) - DALLAS, TX -- December 10, 2009 -- MedicalEdge Healthcare Group, P.A. has announced that 23 of its doctors have qualified to receive Bridges to Excellence (BTE) recognition. Fifteen physicians have been recognized in the Cardiac Care Link program and 11 have received recognition in the Diabetes Care Link, with three doctors receiving recognition in both programs. Additionally, one doctor received the coveted BTE Medical Home recognition, demonstrating superior results in two areas of care, along with a Level 2 designation in the BTE Physician Office Link program. BTE recognition is an indication that these physicians are among the leading doctors around the nation in managing these chronic conditions. MedicalEdge is also one of only a handful of companies nationwide that have submitted for such recognition electronically, and the first company in Texas to have doctors recognized through the electronic program.

BTE recognition is awarded to physicians in specific care areas who have demonstrated quality management of patients with chronic diseases, and who have attained patient outcomes in the top ranks of national standards. Sixteen of the doctors in the MedicalEdge group achieved their BTE recognition using the Allscripts Professional Electronic Health Records (EHR). This is significant in that it allows doctors to achieve BTE goals and standards with no additional paperwork. With EHR, blinded patient outcomes are securely submitted electronically and evaluated based on BTE national program standards.
