(openPR) - medicalpicture Image Contest 2006 with animations and photographs.
The medicalpicture Image Contest is designed to select the best and most spectacular pictures out of the medical & health sector as well as other scientific fields. Professional picture authors (photographers, illustrators, 3D specialists etc.), scientists, physicians as well as amateurs are hereby invited to submit their contribution to the medicalpicture contest.

The following image classes may be submitted: digital photographs, micro photography, medical imaging systems, 3D pictures, schematics and animations. Each submission of course has the opportunity of winning within their Contest Categories (see below) and a plethora of other prizes are available as well. The contests is conducted in cooperation with Photokina 2006, as well as other partners and sponsors. The best images will be publicly presented throughout its duration culminating in the final event, the award ceremony at the Photokina 2006.
Contest Categories The will be four different subject categories. These are: Research and Knowledge', 'Medical and Scientific Imaging', Human Health' and 'microcosms'. It is possible to address each of these categories in a variety of manners. Examples of interesting submission are: images explaining scientific technology, photographs showing people interacting with the healthcare environment, animations of biological processes etc..
Picture Upload The medicalpicture Image Contest is the first competition for scientific, medical and healthcare images which is 100 percent digital and internet based. All images must be uploaded which is possible using any commonly available browser. Exception are animations and video material. These may be submitted via CD or DVD.
Evaluation Internet users may participate in the evaluation process via the internet voting system. Each picture / image may be graded on a scale from 1 to 6, where 1 is the best grade and 6 is the worst.
Important Dates
• June 10th 2006 official start of the contest
• June 15th 2006 official start of the internet voting
• September 9th 2006 submission deadline
• September 20th 2006 internet voting ends
• September 20th to 26th 2006 evaluation through expert jury
• September 20th to October 1st 2006 award ceremony and public picture presentation at the Photokina
Public Display and Presentation As mentioned above, the primary display of all submission will occur via the internet by way of our portals and other websites belonging to contest partners. The winning images and the overall best work will be included in the Medicalpicture presentation at the Photokina. Furthermore, the winning pictures will be presented on stage during the Photokina 2006'Meet the Professionals' program. Lastly, all submissions will be collected and sorted into portfolios and catalogues that will be accessible through the internet for at least one year.
