(openPR) - ]project-open[ announces the release of version V3.4 of its Open-Source (OSS) web-based Project and Service Management application. V3.4 is the first release in 18 months and includes a large number of improvements and enhancements. Amongst others, it features new service management modules, an updated GUI, localization into 10 languages and an online context help system.
Thanks to these features and the availability of a new Windows Installer, ]po[ is now even better suited to meet the needs of small and medium companies with little in-house IT knowledge. At the same time, V3.4 will improve performance in large organizations with more than 1000 active users due to an improved caching mechanism and pre-configured workflows.
“Our Open-Source Project Management solution has been designed particularly for companies seeking to support their business processes in the areas of CRM, project management, portfolio management, project tracking, resource management, internet collaboration and finance.”, says Frank Bergmann, Managing Director of ]project-open[. “Working with ]project-open[ gives users real-time visibility into the status of their company, both operational and financial-wise.”
The ]project-open[ architecture is built with high-end components and therefore suited for companies looking to support mission-critical operations and requiring high scalability. Contrary to many other Open-Source tools, the application provides a sophisticated, role-based permission system and is highly configurable. Small organizations using ]po[ will not have to switch to other applications once they start to grow.
Furthermore, it includes support for financial processes and other enterprise features. This makes it almost functionally equivalent to many closed-source tools used in the mid and high-end market.
