WeWebU Positions Itself as Manufacturer of Enterprise Information Management Software
Press release from: WeWebU Software AG
Process-Orientation, Productivity, Protection of Investments -
Herzogenaurach, 11/05/2009 – The German software manufacturer WeWebU Software AG has advanced its corporate strategy and positions itself as specialist for Enterprise Information Management (EIM). The standard products of the vendor allow implementing enterprise-wide solutions for managing structured and unstructured information in a process-oriented way. Existing solutions for Document Management, Business Process Management and Business Intelligence can seamlessly be integrated in this infrastructure. Using the solutions of WeWebU, enterprises do not only protect their investment into their information infrastructure, but also reduce costs, increase their employees’ productivity and come to decisions faster and better. WeWebU already cooperates with national and international technology and OEM partners like IBM, Saperion, Alfresco or Datalan.
„The trend in Information Management is clearly towards process-oriented applications for Enterprise Information Management. Beneath their interfaces, especially the functional areas of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Intelligence (BI) grow together. A clean multi-tier architecture, modern middleware and functions implemented as web services are the constituents of its technical basis”, explains Stefan Waldhauser, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of WeWebU Software AG.
However, the vendor does not only combine existing applications with own functionalities, but also decouples them from the underlying back end systems. This provides two essential advantages to customers: existing individual solutions do not need to be retired but can be still used and enhanced within the scope of an enterprise-wide infrastructure. Furthermore, information-centric business processes can be mapped without media disruption – including all positive impacts on process productivity and user acceptance.
Co-operations with ECM and BI Manufacturers
Essential elements of the new positioning are the technology and OEM partnerships with national and international vendors of products and solutions for ECM, BPM and BI. “Our approach gets very positive feedback from the market. Since several months, we are in intensive dialogs with different vendors. In the cases of Alfresco, Saperion and Datalan, these talks have already resulted in partnership agreements”, adds Jörg Limberg, COO of WeWebU Software AG, “The growth potential for us and our partners is enormous. The new positioning is the foundation of our aggressive growth strategy, in the German-speaking region as well as internationally.”
By the transformation into a stock cooperation in early September 2009, WeWebU set the stage for its growth strategy on the level of its enterprise organization. Especially of use thereby are the expertise and contacts of the new members of both WeWebU’s Supervisory and Executive Boards.
Another important cornerstone of WeWebU’s corporate strategy is the long-term cooperation with IBM. Moreover, the manufacturer increasingly establishes ties with further consulting companies and system houses especially in order to further develop the international market. Thus, in mid-October WeWebU announced its cooperation with the US enterprise Jeskell Inc., who distributes and implements WeWebU products in the USA as a reselling partner with immediate effect. A further US partner is CM Mitchell Consulting (CMMC).
The WeWebU EIM Offering
WeWebU OpenWorkdesk takes center stage in WeWebU’s EIM offering. With its high level of configurability and broad scope of functionality, EIM projects can be implemented with considerably reduced project effort. WeWebU OpenWorkdesk is based on WeWebU OpenECM-Framework. With it, further data sources can easily be integrated into OpenWorkdesk applications. This accelerates EIM projects and reduces cost. Furthermore, solutions implemented with it are future-proof because of their strict separation from the underlying back ends. Unlike custom developed applications based on the proprietary interfaces of the back end systems, these solutions are platform-independent and run on e.g. several ECM systems without laborious porting. This protects the investments in application development even when upgrading or enhancing the back ends at a later point in time. Adapters for several IBM ECM and BPM systems as well as for the open standards CMIS and JCR are currently available out of the box. Data bases can easily be integrated via the open standards Spring and Hibernate.
Because of their unified look & feel, WeWebU applications make the boundaries of different “data stores” invisible. For example, users search across several ECM repositories without noticing it and without the need to switch between several applications. This allows a comprehensive Enterprise Information Management. When plans arise to consolidate the (heterogeneous) system landscape or change to new back ends, WeWebU OpenWorkdesk and the open framework of the manufacturer allow a smooth migration. Thus, customers are relived from concerns about a critical Big-Bang migration.
WeWebU OpenECM-Framework is a standard product. In addition to end customers, it also explicitly addresses system integrators who want to develop their own platform-independent, vertical or horizontal EIM solutions.

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
