Myspace.com: the Harmonious Alliance of Perfect Marketing, Music and 35 Millions of Fans

Business, Economy, Finances, Banking & Insurance
Press release from: jeepeebiz
(openPR) - What idea is crossing your mind when you are asked about the most-viewed websites on the Internet? I don't know your opinion, but I think in the first place of Google. Secondly, some other search engines turn up: Yahoo, AOL, ... There are, of course, also the big commerce sites like eBay, Amazon and dozens of other popular sites, but here we are only thinking of the "Big Boys" aren't we?.

Did you ever hear of "Myspace.com"? Myspace is becoming the third most viewed website on the Internet!

Visit www.jeepee.biz/myspace to get an idea about how many keywords Myspace represents on the search engines. What you see there is only 20%. Using them all would make the website unworkable.

MySpace is a social networking site which refers to itself as a "lifestyle portal" combining user profiles, blogs, instant messaging, user photos, music streaming, classified ads, groups, community forums, email, and more. MySpace users find other users with similar interests and lifestyles which can then translate into users' "offline social experience."

The site has become so increasingly popular recently that many mainstream music groups have pages on the site.

Originally founded as a wholly owned subsidiary of InterMix Media, Inc., MySpace.com was spun into a separate entity in 2003. The person mostly responsible for the advertisement of the site is Tom Anderson.

Within months, the site's popularity exploded and the programmers were hurried to improve the site as much as possible. In September 2003, MySpace announced the addition of several improvements. The first group profiles were added, there came a new look, there came an improvement of the mailbox and, this might be the most important: the bands started adding friends to the site, and ... you can never have too many friends, especially of those that create good music, can't you?

October 2003 brought new features for the members, they could leave comments on people's profile pictures. An "Online Now" status was added in more areas, and the Mailbox was vastly improved. At this time, users were starting to experiment with HTML, creating more elaborate profiles that attracted interest. Some users offered their help so that new and inexperienced users could also learn to customize their profile.

In today's online entertainment market, everyone is awash with Myspace.com fever. 35 million of registered users find each other at the blog meeting point, and the success of the HTML-generated site is almost unparalleled. But the greatest feature on the website remains, in alliance with the youth, naturally the music, bands can sign up and show the Myspace members select tracks off their albums. They can also blog, and show off their tour dates. Even webmasters are creating special websites (www.jeepee.biz/myspace) to help new members solve their first problems and answer their questions.

As a sign of its popularity, Myspace has been acquired by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp., but that's an other story.
