Zeist, 18 July 2006 - Another step has been taken in the process of establishing the ´new´ Achmea. The new organisation - created by the merger with Interpolis - has been arranged in the form of six divisions. Three divisions are centred around distribution channels: banking, direct distribution and brokers. The other three divisions focus on products: pensions, occupational health and health. Eureko, Achmea´s parent company, also has a separate Europe division, the role of which is to drive growth beyond the Netherlands.

Executive Board
The seven divisions will be led by the Executive Board, based in Zeist. This currently consists of nine members, each with their own specific business portfolios. With the establishment of the new, more compact organisation structure - from twenty business units and market organisations in the Netherlands, to seven divisions - the time is right to streamline the responsibilities of the Executive Board. In the light of this, the number of Executive Board members will also reduce.
Therefore, with effect from 1 October 2006, Kick van der Pol, Gert van Arkel and Margriet Tiemstra will resign from their positions. Kick van der Pol and Margriet Tiemstra will pursue their careers outside of Eureko. Gert van Arkel will take early retirement. We acknowledge and are grateful for the enormous contribution they have made over the past years, and especially for their roles in developing the new organisation.

As of 1 October 2006, the Executive Board will consist of Maarten Dijkshoorn (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer), Ernst Jansen (Vice Chairman), Willem van Duin, Huub Hannen, Gerard van Olphen (Chief Financial Officer) and Roel Wijmenga.

Divisions
Bank Distribution division
The Bank Distribution division is the business partner for all Rabobank Group units, in insurance, pensions, occupational health and health business. The management board of the Bank Distribution division is based in Tilburg.
Chairman of the board is Joop Kanen (58), formerly director of Private Non-Life at Interpolis. Other members of the management team: Marco Heijndijk (Finance), Jack Hommel (Commercial Lines), Tiny Coppens (Private Life) and Rob Coolen (Private Non-Life).

Direct Distribution division
The Direct Distribution division concentrates on the direct writing of insurance and banking products. The management boards is based in Apeldoorn.
Chairman of the board is Danny van der Eijk (47), formerly director of Achmea Commercial Lines. Other members of the management team: Mary Groenewoud (Finance), Felix Tenniglo (Marketing), Chris Schonewille (Non-Life) and Ralf Rikze (Life).

Broker Distribution division
The Broker Distribution division focuses on the development and distribution of specific service concepts via independent brokers, chains, purchasing consortia and business consultancies & authorised agencies. The management board is based in Leeuwarden and Leusden. Chairman of the board is Conrad Rombout (47), formerly director of Private Life at Interpolis. Other members of the management team: Merko Tigelaar (Finance), Rob ter Mors (Marketing & Distribution), Ton Zumbrink (Non-Life and Life) and Harry Kiewiet (Health and Income).

Pensions division
The Pensions division offers every conceivable type of group and individual products providing provision for the future to pension funds, employers, self-employed professionals and employees. The management board of the Pensions division is based in De Meern.
The post of chairman of the board, as of 1 October 2006, will be Albert Bakker (44), currently a member of the board of REAAL Insurance (part of SNS REAAL). In his present role, he is responsible for the Insurance Service Centre at REAAL, as well as for Legal and Fiscal Affairs. Other members of the management team: Rob Becker ad interim (Finance), Guus Wouters (Fund Management), Otto Veldt (Financial Pensions Management / Investment Management) and Peter Wensveen (Pension Insurance).

Occupational Health division
The Occupational Health division offers customers appropriate solutions and expertise in the areas of work, health and income. The division embraces both insurance activities and health & safety services. The management board is based in De Meern.
Chairman of the board is Jack Buckens (49), formerly director of People & Work Insurance at Interpolis. Other members of the management team: Wieger Wagenaar (Finance), Peter van Kleij (Services) and Dolf Kamermans (Insurance).

Health division
The Health division covers all the health insurance activities. This division focuses on providing transparent, affordable insurance and services in the areas of absenteeism prevention, health and reintegration. The management board is based in Amsterdam.
Chairman of the board is Jeroen van Breda Vriesman (39), formerly director of Occupational Health at Achmea. Other members of the management team: Dick Simmers (Finance), Arne van den Boom (Marketing), Leon de Jong (Customer Contact Centre), Roelof Konterman (Operations) and Guus van Montfort (Health Procurement).

Europe division
The Europe division has the role of driving growth beyond the Netherlands. This division facilitates the development of Eureko´s Operating Companies in Belgium, France, Ireland, Poland, Greece, Slovakia, Cyprus, Romania and Bulgaria. The board is chaired by David Sanderse (41), formerly director of Corporate Business Development at Eureko, and is based in Zeist.

All of the above appointments are subject to approval from the Dutch Central Bank.
The appointment of Albert Bakker ((Pensions) is subject to regulatory approval and approval of the central works council.
