Japat AG well prepared for entry into the EU ETS

Press release from: GALLEHR+PARTNER
(openPR) - When the implications of the EU ETS became clear, Japat AG brought in the experience of GALLEHR+PARTNER to help them navigate their way through the requirements laid down by the EU.

Frankfurt-Karben, Germany / 13 October, 2009: For Business Aviation companies the challenges of the EU ETS were even greater than those for large, commercial airlines – the resources and the knowledge were simply not available to deal with the stringent requirements laid down by the EU ETS. Japat AG, a business aviation company based in Switzerland/France, knew that to meet these requirements they would need support from experienced experts.

Dolores Todesco, airport service coordinator for Japat AG, had the task of putting together the monitoring plans and setting in place the processes for producing the monitoring reports as of 2010. She explained: “The competitive advantage of the task was clear to us, but our company simply did not have the necessary experience to meet these requirements. Only with the support of experts would we be sure to meet the deadlines set and ensure that we dealt with this strategically. There were a number of companies with whom I spoke, but only GALLEHR+PARTNER seemed to really know what they were talking about – and understood exactly what I needed.”

Japat AG has since met the required deadlines from their appointed CA, France, and is now preparing the ground for the monitoring process to begin. Dolores continued: “Important for us now is that the whole team understands their part in putting together the monitoring reports, the processes which need to be put in place and how this will impact our future business. Here the team from GALLEHR+PARTNER is putting a series of seminars in place to strengthen the knowledge required within the company's management and administration team.”

Sebastian Gallehr, CEO of GALLEHR+PARTNER said: “An informed and trained team is one of the best ways of ensuring success as the EU ETS comes into play. Airlines, big and small, need to take on the challenges ahead by building the knowledge and expertise within their own companies – at the management level as well as with all relevant staff. Only then can the risks be minimized and the opportunities recognized.”

For more information on the remaining challenges facing airlines in 2010 and beyond, GALLEHR+PARTNER have issued a third special edition newsletter for aviation. The latest newsletter, and previous issues, can be found at the following web site: www.gallehr.de
