Short Courses on DSP for FPGAs
Press release from: hueggenberg gbr
PR Agency: hueggenberg gbr
(openPR) - Technical Courses on Digital Signal Processing for Programmable Logic Technology
Starnberg, July 14th, 2006 - hueggenberg gbr, the experienced firm for technical training courses, is pleased to announce a new series of short courses on "DSP for FPGAs". These courses will be presented during the second half of 2006 at several locations in Germany, Italy, Scotland, Switzerland, and the United States. FPGAs with DSP functionality are a rapidly growing market with vast potential. They target a broad field of applications including industrial, automotive, communication systems, broadcast video SD/HD, image processing, infotainment, radar, sonar and security systems. Furthermore, the growing requirements for processing speeds of the order of 10-100 billions of operations per second, the need for rapid prototyping and software definable architectures will further the penetration of FPGAs into the DSP communication market.
This course is organised by hueggenberg gbr and presented by Steepest Ascent Ltd, who have more than 10 years of experience in the delivery of professional training. The 4 day intensive course is coordinated by Prof. Bob Stewart with the assistance of the team at Steepest Ascent and in cooperation with the Institute for System Level Integration (iSLI). The technical course will present and examine the use of FPGAs for DSP algorithms, applications and architectures and will feature the entire software design flow from concept and bit true simulation, to actual hardware implementation. Special attention is paid to practical experience; after each presentation a hands-on session will follow in which attendees will be able to simulate and implement the structures and architectures introduced. These practical sessions are based on the latest Xilinx DSP design flow, from simulation using System Generator to synthesis using Xilinx ISE with final implementation on Xilinx XUP Virtex-II Pro development kit. The course also covers the Xilinx embedded design flow using XPS. Each attendee will receive a comprehensive set of notes and examples for in depth study after the course. Lectures about this topic have been successfully presented every year in the USA at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) since 2002, and at ISLI since 2004 as well as on-site to a number customers.
The following dates and locations are available:
August 31st to July 3rd, 2006 in Los Angeles, United States
September 19th to 22nd, 2006 in Dortmund, Germany
September 26th to 29th, 2006 in Berlin, Germany
October 9th to 12th, 2006 in Livingston, Scotland
October 17th to 20th, 2006 in Munich, Germany

Comments about openPR
OpenPR ist the nicest and most clearly laid out PR platform I have seen to this day. The press releases are displayed very nicely and clearly and without any unnecessary frills.
The updates are fast and the finished release looks appealing and is clearly legible.
Even with 16 years of experience one discovers new things from time to time.
Congratulations!
